Churn is building a creamery. Can you imagine?  Farm fresh ice cream targeted to locals, creating jobs, in a historic old theater that is considered the most recognizable landmark of the Portola neighborhood (aptly named the Garden District).  Pinch us, we must be dreaming.

We are slated to open our new brick and mortar and production space in Spring-Summer 2018.  In order to raise funds for aspects of the product, we are launching a crowdfunding campaign in early 2018.  We absolutely need your help to make this happen.  Leave us your email below to be the first to learn about this campaign.

It is located in a 1,550 s.f. garden in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco and is the inspiration for ingredients for Churn Urban Creamery.


About Rica

Hi, my name is Rica.  Thanks for stopping by.

I am designer, urban farmer, and an ice cream lover based in the Outer Sunset district of San Francisco.  I draw inspiration from my world travels and nature.  I was born in Manila, Philippines but raised in San Francisco and served a marvelous seven year stint in New York City.  I've been in a city hardscape my whole life but always escaped to nature to find my inspiration. I have a 10 year background in fashion and design and am making my foray in the world of food.  I am now fusing my love for growing and eating freshly grown organic food within my city environment through Beach Cottage Urban Farm and sharing that bounty and connection with you through my ice cream at Churn Urban Creamery.


FUN FACT: Rica means delicious in Spanish.  Talk about pre-destined.
